Treatments for Cancer
When a woman faces a medical condition that affects her uterus (womb) - the organ that holds and feeds a fertilized egg during pregnancy - the emotional impact can often be as challenging as the physical. These conditions include, but are not limited to cervical, uterine, and ovarian cancer.

Uterine cancer (commonly also called endometrial cancer) is more common among women after menopause, but may also occur in premenopausal women, particularly those who have a history of irregular menstrual cycles. Standard treatment options include hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus), hormone therapy, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Three of these - hysterectomy, radiation therapy and chemotherapy - are also used to treat cervical cancer, while hysterectomy and chemotherapy are used to treat ovarian cancer.
This section will explore some of these diseases and potential treatment options that you could discuss with your physician.
